Get Excited! Here’s What You Can Bid On At Our Chicago Silent Auction

In case you haven’t seen yet, our fundraiser in Chicago is only one month away! TTP staff will be guest bartending at the Nisei Lounge at 3439 N. Sheffield Ave. from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday July 11th. All cash tips from the bar will help support Turning the Page’s programs engaging families in North Lawndale public schools. This event is a great way to meet the staff and learn more about our programs. Join the event on Facebook and start spreading the word to friends! Part of the fundraiser will include a silent auction, featuring gift cards, tickets, and other goodies from organizations around the city for you (yes, you!) to bid on.

Silent Auction Donors

Ahead of the fundraiser, we wanted to share some of the wonderful organizations that are donating to our silent auction. Guests to our fundraiser will have the chance to bid on a variety of items. Donating organizations come all the way from Evanston to Bronzeville, Logan Square to Ravenswood, North Lawndale to Wrigleyville, River North to Hyde Park, and beyond. Here’s just a small hint of what’s to come (scroll down for more donors).

Looking to treat your tastebuds?

Enjoy the rooftop dining experience of the J. Parker or get one of the best brunches in the city at Pearl’s Place. Consider Chicago classics like Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza or Twin Anchors world famous BBQ. Dining out at restaurants like the Gage, Haisous, or Bar Biscay is guaranteed to make your friends jealous.

If you’re looking for suds, there will be plenty of swag from award-winning breweries like Half Acre, Revolution, Empirical, and Eris.

Maybe you want a unique festival experience?

The Great American Lobster Fest promises fresh seafood and a gorgeous backdrop of the city at Navy Pier in August. Some of the biggest bands in the world are coming to Douglas Park in September for Riot Fest’s 15 year anniversary. And the Festival of Wood & Barrel Aged Beer is the country’s largest celebration of wood and barrel aged beer.

Trying to find the motivation to start working out?

There are plenty of options to stay in shape. The Chicago Athletic Club has multiple locations all around the city. Corepower and the Zen Yoga Garage provide all your stretching and meditative needs. Or get a full tune-up from the Bike Lane and start riding up and down the Lake Shore Path.

Looking to expand your cultural knowledge?

Create the perfect date night with a live stage performance at Second City, the Goodman Theatre, or the Joffrey Ballet. Or if you prefer a screened film, grab tickets from the Logan Theatre or ArcLight. A membership to the American Writer’s Museum or the International Museum of Surgical Science is a great way to support to critical Chicago institutions. If you’ve been meaning to check out more local writers, consider a book package from local publishers like Tortoise Books, Siete Vientos, and Haymarket Publishing.

Turning the Page links public schools, families and our community so that, together, we can ensure students receive valuable educational resources and a high-quality public education.
