New Pop-Up Bookstore in Mount Vernon Triangle

Carpe Librum started out as an annual pop-up used book sale in the District that raised funds for Turning the Page. In 2013, we opened our permanent bookstore at 1030 17th street. This summer we brought back the pop-up book sale in NoMa and had such a blast that we’ve decided to do another! Our latest additional Carpe Librum pop-up will be opening soon in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood, at 462 K St NW, and as always, all proceed will directly benefit Turning the Page and our family engagement programs in DC public schools. All the inventory of gently used books are new to Carpe Librum shelves!

Both the permanent location and the Mount Vernon pop-up will have everything from popular novels and literary classics to cookbooks, biographies, history and more. The stores also feature shelves of beautiful vintage books, extensive children’s and young adult sections, as well as CDs and DVDs.

The pop-up is located at 462 K St NW, open weekdays 11am – 7:30 pm, weekends 11:30am – 6pm. Reach us via the Mount Vernon Square or Gallery Place metro stations, or take the Georgetown – Union Station Circulator to the Massachusetts Ave NW and 5th St NW stop. We’ll be under the bright green awning!

Donations of gently used books, CDs, and DVDs will be accepted at the used bookstore as well as the permanent location during open hours. We cannot accept magazines, periodicals, encyclopedia or other large book sets, or VHS tapes.

The pop-up is made possible with the help of the Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District and Federal Management Systems, Inc.

We hope to see you there!Untitled design
