On November 15, parent leaders representing Turning the Page’s six partner schools joined together to share resources and strategize about advocacy efforts at our Fall Parent Leadership Conference, held at M.O.M.I.E’s TLC. While students honed their architecture skills at the National Building Museum, parents met with a representative from Washington, DC Public Schools to learn more about the new PARCC assessment, shared strategies for effective group communication and leadership, and created action plans for school improvement initiatives. Parent leaders left the event energized to begin working on their school-based projects for the remainder of the school year.
