Carpe Librum raises valuable funds for Turning the Page by selling used books, CD, DVDs, and vinyl records donated by the community. We host outdoor pop-up book sales in the DC area throughout spring, summer, and autumn.

Are Carpe Librum bookstores open?

Our downtown pop-up location at 1350 I St NW (on the corner of 14th and I) is currently open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 12pm-6pm.

I’m looking for a specific book. Can I order it through Carpe Librum?

Yes! Carpe Librum is now on Bookshop.org, an independent retailer with a mission to support independent bookstores. When you buy a book using our affiliate link, we earn a 30% commission on the sale. Now, you can get brand new books while helping to sustain our programs engaging public school parents! Browse staff picks, curated book lists, and more.

What do Carpe Librum’s proceeds support?

Carpe Librum book sales support our education programming in DC, focused on family engagement and literacy development.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes! You can buy a gift card here. Gift cards can be used at any Carpe Librum book sale, and they never expire. You can also use gift cards to purchase Curated by Carpe Librum packages. 

I have books that I’d like to donate. Is that possible?

Are there any ways to partner with Carpe Librum?

Carpe Librum is currently looking for retail partners to discuss the possibility of creating a special package of books and merchandise. We are also interested in potential pop-up sale partners. If you are interested in more information, please get in touch with Jason at jking@turningthepage.org.
