THOUSANDS OF GENTLY USED BOOKS, CDS, AND DVDS ALL UNDER $6!
One of our most unique ways we raise funds is through our own used bookstores and popup shops called Carpe Librum (“Seize the Book”) where we sell gently used books, CDs and DVDs donated to us by the community. These pop-ups are an extra opportunity to engage the community at large to learn more about our programs, schools, and communities we work in.
We have had many great partners since our first pop-up in 2017. The Chicago Loop Alliance has been instrumental in helping us find spaces downtown, including our Block 37 location where we were for over three years! We are also thankful to the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce for their placemaking grant program through SSA 27 which we received in the Spring of 2021. We’ve also previously had locations in Portage Park, the Thompson Center, the Roosevelt Collection, and in Lakeview on Clark Street. We’ve held one day pop-ups in Lakeview East, the American Writers Museum, the Northcenter Farmers Market, the Raven Theatre and the Music Box Lounge.
While we’ve sadly had to close our locations in Chicago and have finished our pop-up calendar for 2021, we are always looking for potential partners. Have a place in mind? Want to get involved? Send us an email to mail@turningthepage.org.

HOW TO DONATE
If you would like to donate books, CDs, DVDs, or vinyl records, we accept donations of any genre and for all ages with the exception of encyclopedias, magazines or journal publications, text books 10 years or older, and VHS or cassette tapes. Schedule a book pickup for five or more boxes from your home or business at no cost to you. Send an email to Andrew for more information.
