We have been all over the place keeping busy trying to get books into your hands. Our Washington D.C. and Chicago Carpe Librum pop-up locations are going strong. Now, with so many recent donations, we’re able to participate in a couple day-long pop-ups in Maryland as well. Read on for all the details.
Maryland Pop-Ups
The first pop-up this weekend will be in Riverdale Park on Friday October 5th, from 11AM – 8PM. Come to Bear Square and shop over 10,000 books, CD’s and DVD’s. This is in partnership with the Riverdale Park Station and Hyattsville Library, who will be there from 2PM – 5PM to do readings, book checkouts, crafts and activities. Live music will begin at 5PM until the evening winds down.

Rosslyn Closing
We’re sad to say that we are in the final days of our Rosslyn location in Arlington, VA. Saturday October 6th will be out last day and there are plenty of great books to grab until we close. Come join us at the corner of 19th and N. Moore Street from 11AM – 8PM, now through Saturday. We want to thank the Rosslyn Business Improvement District for the opportunity to be a part of this. We look forward to popping up again in Arlington in the future!
Thompson Center Sale
If you haven’t been to our Thompson Center location in Chicago for awhile, you’ll want to get back there before the weekend while we continue our 50% off sale. Almost everything will be half-off, meaning hardcovers are $2.40, paperbacks are $1.90, and mass market books are only $0.75! DVDs are $2.00 each and CDs are going for just $1.50. Hurry up before the sale ends at the end of the day Friday.
Please note that the Thompson Center will also be closed on Monday October 8th, but our Block 37 location will be open 11AM – 6PM.
Thank You For The Donations!
We wouldn’t be able to do any of our work at Turning the Page without generous support from people like you. Each month we receive gently used books, CDs, and DVDs from businesses, apartment complexes, churches, schools, and individuals around the city. We’re so grateful to come across avid readers and literacy supporters willing to donate their books to a great cause. Every donation helps us carry our work forward and provide literacy development opportunities for the school communities we serve!
