Turning the Page Launches a New Digital Hub

Turning the Page is excited to announce the launch of an updated edition to our COVID-19 response programming, The Digital Hub. As the educational world shifted online, Turning the Page recognized the importance of meeting the needs of our families during these challenging times by creating a virtual space specifically for parents. Using the platform Edmodo, The Digital Hub allows parents, teachers, and community partners to access and share learning resources for educating children at home. Parents and partners can easily create an account by navigating to the Edmodo website or by downloading the mobile app.

Educational Resources

Once parents are connected on the Digital Hub, they are able to access TTP’s curated educational content. Parents can opt to join a variety of groups with subject matter ranging from math learning support, to structure and routine support. TTP understands that each of our families face a unique set of challenges this school year. The Digital Hub allows parents to customize their content in order to discover resources specific to the needs of their children. With a personalized feed, parents can find the help they are looking for and foster a robust at home learning environment. Parents also have the ability to search and save content so it can be easily accessed at their convenience.

Local Content

In addition to supplemental educational materials, The Digital Hub provides parents with relevant local content. Parents can join a city specific group where they will have access to information on new TTP events, community resources, and school specific alerts. TTP recognizes that parents may be juggling several different online platforms with remote learning. The city specific groups help the Digital Hub function as a centralized location for information on all things education and makes it accessible to our families.

An Online Community

One of the biggest challenges families face with the switch to online education is the lack of a parent community. The Digital Hub allows parents to virtually connect with one another to provide assistance, advice, and support while remote. Functioning much like a social media platform, The Digital Hub encourages a sense of community for parents by allowing them to post, comment, and share resources with one another.

Community Partners

In order to broaden the scope of the platform and provide even more resources to families, Turning the Page Community Partners will also be active on the Digital Hub. Organizations including local museums and libraries will be able to post content, share events, and connect directly with parents. These partnerships allow community organizations to promote their own events and resources while also helping children receive a quality, at-home education.

Although the Digital Hub was created to assist parents during the challenges of remote learning, we are hopeful that it will remain a useful platform for parents for years to come. We are excited to continue to engage families virtually and explore all the ways in which the Digital Hub can help every child receive a great education.
